Yeah, I'm Australian. I'm also the organizer and one of the judges of the competition
I'm sorry I couldn't make the competition open to the world, but our prizes (fx-9860G AU) are only for Australians. You can't buy them outside australia.

It's a real pity i don't really find that the english casio programming community is very active... i've found some really cool programs but not a lot of them (most of them are also rather old)

It's probably because here in America, TI graphing calculators dominate and everyone uses them. In fact, I am the only student in my school to own a CASIO graphing calculator.

| The fx-9860 is getting quite popular in Australia. And, I hope that after my competition, many people will begin programming on it.

In english For kucalc.:
We have the same problem as you in Portugal. Ti bought the teachers offering calculators or just making very very nice prices for teachers. So them teaches they're classes based on their short knoledges. The teaching books have sugestions to the use of Ti calculatos after the exercise, and the CASIO sugestion is placed in the end of the book... what do you think about it??
And more: students, that most of the time don't have the haility to think for them selves, folows the teaching leadings without questioning.
Some times students uses the argument: "my teachers only knows how to work with Ti and they say it's the best." (of...course.... maybe if I received one Ti for free would say the same)
Have you ever heard such stupidity!!??
The fact is that Ti dominates now a market leaded by CASIO.
Another proof of great stupidity: Students in Portugal like to cheat in exam's. so if they used a calculator wich teachers didn't know how to work with (CASIO), wouldn't it be easyer to cheat.???!!!!
As you kucalc I'm one in a milion using a CASIO in my university.
It was a great thing if Ti leaded the marked for it's better quality product instead of using dirty strategys.
REVOLUTION..................

Hey Zorbatan, it's nice to see you here also.
I haven't been to Planet Casio in a while, sorry Muelsaco, I've been busy with projects but now I'll visit here frequently.
Yes, it's unfair in how CASIO invented the graphing calculator and then TI stealing the market from CASIO. In fact, the TI-81 (TI's first graphing calculator) is a copy of CASIO's fx-7000!!!
If you go to TI education site, you'll see that they never compare their calculators to CASIO, because CASIO graphing calculators are actually much better for mathematics than a TI! On CASIO's educational site, CASIO happily compares their calculators to TI's, showing that CASIO calculators is much better for educational purposes!

| TI released flash memory before Casio, this is the main reason of the TI success.

Hey kucalc,
It's good to see you here too, but it's not that surprising. You have always something new to us. It's natural that you daily scan the world wide web.
I've seen your newest version of "readTXT", precious, very very nice. I rather say perfect, but perfection is 1 of the most mutant things.
"Tomorrow" we will always do it better".
