It's a music player that supports WAV / MP3 / Opus for fx-CG50 / fx-CG100. You should be able to fit 1 hour of 32 kbps Opus audio in the calculator's storage. Longer time can be achieved if you are willing to lower the bitrate even more.

Heavy tests have been performed to ensure great audio quality on fx-CG50 / fx-CG100. I've tested a lot of different ways to reduce noise and to achieve higher SNR. There are many tiny details, and it almost feels like a real "Hi-Fi" project lol. I also used a 96 kHz / 24-bit SONY recorder to check audio quality. More experiments are still on-going. As a music player it still lacks basic functions such as playlists, shuffle mode, etc. These features will come later. The main purpose of this project is to test how good the CASIO can be as a music player. It's the pilot project for adding audio support for my gpSP GBA emulator.

(fun fact: fx-CG50 sounds better than fx-CG100 - the noise is more spreaded out across the frequency spectrum, even though the total noise energy is higher compared to fx-CG100)

To reduce noise, no screen refresh will happen during playback. So if you see the screen stuck during playback, don't panic - that's not a bug but a feature.

This project uses libmad & libopus for decoding files.
This project is coded by Claude Opus 5.5. There are also a LOT of manual testing involved.

The attached g3a works on both fx-CG50 and fx-CG100.
